PA-CAT Exam Development and DIF Analysis PanelWe invite qualified faculty members to apply for a seat on our PA Admissions Exam Development Committee and Differential Item Functioning (DIF) Analysis Panel. Your expertise can significantly impact the development and evaluation of assessments for future PA applicants.
PA-CAT Exam Development Committee
As a member of the PA Admissions Exam Development Committee, you will collaborate with fellow subject matter experts to guide the creation of an exam designed to assess applicants’ understanding of core prerequisite basic science subjects, including:
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- General Biology
- Microbiology
- Genetics
- General Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Statistics
The committee holds quarterly conference calls and may schedule one in-person meeting per year, typically in Philadelphia. Exam Master will cover travel-related expenses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to disseminate scholarly research related to the PA Admissions Exam, which can be beneficial for your tenure and promotion.
DIF Analysis Panel
We also invite you to join our PA Admissions Differential Item Functioning (DIF) Panel. This panel evaluates items that may perform significantly differently for underrepresented groups, including:
- Black/African American
- Asian/Pacific Islander
- Hispanic/Latino/South or Central American
- Native American/Native Alaskan
The DIF Panel comprises members representing these groups who will review any items exhibiting bias based on a DIF analysis.
